一封给廖忠莱的信

今早收到的电邮,希望把这封信公开在这里让廖部长在忙着“逼宫”时有机会可以看到。除了50万的生日礼物,希望廖部长也能回应这件事。

Dear All
Interesting if true. Wonder whether MAAC is going to go for this BIG FISH or still fishing for kacang putih cases with the opposition parties. Your guess is as good as mine.

I understand that there exist a voluntary group set up by the former Health Minister (Dato Chua Ju Meng) called Panel Penasihat Klinik Kesihatan PPKK, liken to that of Rukun Tetangga. The group is wholly voluntary and members are made up of doctors and medical personnel from the respective government clinics all over Malaysia and some volunteers from the public (usually regular patients from the clinic).

The purpose of the group acts as a liason between the Govt and the public on matters of health. Feedbacks from the govt to the people on ongoing health information and vice versa the needs of the community to the Govt via the PPKK. The members of PPKK also help organise projects like anti-dengue campaigns, health checks, health awareness campaigns, etc. Financial support for running the PPKK activities is almonst nil. The PPKK committee has to find sponsorsw themselves or dig into their own pockets.

The effectiveness of the entire machinery can be seen by continued endorsement of the group when Dato Dr Chua Soi Lek took over from Dato Chua Ju Meng as Health Minister.

I was told that the elected members of the term 2008 to 2010 were not even sanctioned by the Hon Health Minister until now. Even at Pengarah level, their hands are tight. They did not get any positive reply from the Health Minister's office.

Meanwhile for the die-hards volunteers, they continue to carry out projects on their own accord (with the cooperation of their respective clinics) while some, seeing the futile effort of non-endorsement, resigned.

I was always wondering how come the incoming Health Minister is so hardworking & so busy that he do not even have time to endorse a good team of volunteers under his ministry to bridge the gap between the Government and the rakyat.

Now I think I know why. Do you?

TN
P.S. Anyone care to cc to Dato Liow this letter if you have his email address?
